Hello dear readers! Thank you so much for checking out my story. I really hope you all enjoy it!
It was a dark night in the city, and the streets were filled with the loud noise of traffic: BEEP BEEP! BHOOM BHOOM! Suddenly, a big accident happened. A motorcycle crashed right into a car. The rider of the motorcycle was a girl named Xio Zi. The loud impact echoed through the dark night: BHUMP! THUD! CRASHHH! Xio Zi was an orphan, but she had a secret identity. In the dangerous underground world, everyone knew her as a powerful mafia member. She had also just enrolled as a student at a new university.
Immediately, the car door swung open and a very angry boy stepped out. It was Jeo-on Shang. He looked at the damage on his vehicle and shouted at Xio Zi, demanding that she pay for the repairs.
But Xio Zi was just as angry as he was. She glared at him and snapped back, "YOU'RE THE ONE WHO SUDDENLY STOPPED AT A GREEN LIGHT! DON'T YOU HAVE EYES? CAN'T YOU SEE THE TRAFFIC LIGHT, YOU IDIOT?"
To show him she wasn't scared, Xio Zi gave his car a sharp kick. Then, she revved her motorcycle engine: Dhum! Before he could say anything else, she sped off into the night like the wind: Vvrrrrrnnnn!
(The real reason Jeo-on had stopped so suddenly was because a little cat had run out in front of his car, so he had to slam on his brakes to save it.)
Jeo-on stood there, completely frustrated. He came from an incredibly wealthy family. His father, Gao-fu Shang, owned the top-ranking company in Shanghai, so no one had ever dared to yell at him like that before. For the next month, Jeo-on could not get Xio Zi out of his mind. He spent days searching for her everywhere, furious and wanting to force her to apologize to him.
One Month Later at Hoyuang University
Xio Zi walked through the university gates carrying her backpack. Suddenly, a girl shouted across the campus, "Hey, Xio Zi, I'm here!"
Xio Zi smiled warmly as her best friend from high school, Ying Ying, ran up and hugged her tightly. Ying Ying happily helped Xio Zi carry her heavy luggage toward the campus hostel. By a wonderful coincidence, they found out they were actually assigned to be roommates!
When they walked into their new dorm room, two other girls were already inside. One was sitting at the mirror doing her makeup, and the other was relaxing on her bed eating snacks. They all smiled and introduced themselves. The girl doing her makeup was named Daiyu, and the girl eating snacks was Xiang An.
To be friendly, Xio Zi opened her bags and gave Ying Ying a box of chocolates, which was her absolute favorite. She also gave a box of chocolates to Daiyu and Xiang An. The two girls were so happy and thanked Xio Zi excitedly. They all sat together, shared their snacks, and talked for a long time until they became good friends.
After a while, Daiyu left the room to go meet her boyfriend. Xiang An decided to take Xio Zi and Ying Ying outside to explore the massive university campus.
As they were walking around, they suddenly heard a huge crowd of girls screaming and cheering. Curious, they ran over to see what was happening. They saw a luxury car pull up, and two boys stepped out.
Xiang An whispered to them, "Those two are the richest and most handsome boys in our entire college. They are juniors here."
The boy with the black hair was Jeo-on, the heir to the top company in Shanghai. The other boy with blue hair was his best friend, Yuze. Yuze was famous for being a major playboy who dated lots of girls and broke up with them within a week. Their fathers were also close friends.
"What? He is such a playboy!" Ying Ying said, looking shocked.
Xiang An warned them, "You two need to stay far away from him, my dear friends." Ying Ying and Xio Zi both nodded their heads in agreement.
Looking at the crowd of girls swooning and shouting things like, "Wow, he looks so handsome! My heart is going to fall out!", Xio Zi just sighed.
"It's a complete waste of time to stand here. Let's go back," Xio Zi said coldly.
As they turned to leave, Jeo-on glanced over at the crowd. He caught a quick glimpse of Xio Zi, but he couldn't see her face clearly through the crowd. He and Yuze ignored the screaming fans and walked toward the hostel.
"Why are you staying in the university hostel anyway?" Yuze asked with a smile. "Let's just book a luxury hotel and stay there."
"No, I want to stay here," Jeo-on replied calmly.
Yuze laughed and said, "Okay dude, I am staying with you then." Jeo-on smiled, and they walked into their dorm room.
Inside the room, two other guys named Dong Dao and Jun Bai were intensely playing games on their computers. They quickly stood up and greeted Jeo-on and Yuze. Jeo-on and Yuze unpacked their bags, took a refreshing bath, and went straight to bed since it was already late at night.
The Next Morning
"HEY XIO ZI, GET UP! WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR OUR FIRST CLASS!" Ying Ying yelled anxiously.
On their way to the lecture hall, Xio Zi’s stomach growled. She stopped right in front of a restaurant.
"We are going to be late!" Ying Ying panicked.
But Xio Zi just replied, "I'm hungry, so let's eat first." After eating a full breakfast, Xio Zi finally stood up, and they both sprinted to their classroom.
Ying Ying hesitated at the door and tried to walk in quietly, but the professor caught them immediately. He looked at Ying Ying and asked, "Hey, wait, what is your name?"
Nervous and embarrassed, Ying Ying stuttered, "Um, um, uh..."
The professor joked, "Um Um Uh? Is that your name?"
The whole classroom burst out laughing. Ying Ying’s face turned red, and she quickly said, "No, no! My name is Ying Ying."
The professor smiled and said, "It's your very first class, and you both came late."
Ying Ying quickly made up an excuse. "Actually, sir, on our way here, a little cat looked very hungry, so I had to stop and feed her. That's why we are late!" The professor chuckled, nodded, and told them to go take their seats.
As Xio Zi walked by to sit down, Jeo-on looked up at her. A sudden spark of recognition flashed in his mind. He felt like he knew her from somewhere, but he couldn't fully remember. He shrugged his shoulders and decided to let it go for now, resting his head on his hand to relax.
When the class finally ended, Xio Zi and Ying Ying left the room and decided to go up to the university rooftop to get some fresh air.
But when they reached the rooftop, they saw a group of rich girls bullying a poor girl. The bullies had grabbed the girl's backpack and thrown all her books and belongings all over the floor.
Xio Zi and Ying Ying rushed over to stop it. "What do you think you're doing? Leave her alone and stop bullying her!" they shouted.
The leader of the bullies laughed loudly, "Hahahaha! You two poor people actually want to fight with us?"
Xio Zi didn't hesitate. She stepped right in front of the bullied girl to protect her. Facing the bully leader face-to-face, Xio Zi used her quick reflexes and gave the leader a good beating.
Shocked and hurt, the bullies backed away. "We don't have time for this anyway. We'll see you next time!" they yelled angrily as they ran away.
The poor girl was crying. She explained that they always bullied her because her family was poor and her mother worked as a maid at the university. The bully leader was named Bain Chun, and her father actually owned the entire university. Ying Ying and the girl were amazed by how bravely Xio Zi had stood up for her. The grateful girl offered to buy them a treat later to say thank you, and Xio Zi smiled and said, "Sure."
What Xio Zi didn't know was that Jeo-on had been standing by the rooftop door, watching the entire fight. Seeing her fierce movements, he suddenly remembered everything! She was the girl from the motorcycle accident who had insulted him in the rain. Now, his ego was targeted, and he wanted his apology. He was about to walk up to her, but Yuze suddenly appeared next to him, so Jeo-on stopped and decided to wait.
The English Class Confrontation
Later that day, everyone was sitting in the classroom when the English professor, Yue Qi, entered and started the lesson. Xio Zi and Ying Ying sat right in the very front row. Jeo-on sat on the very last bench of a different row, staring angrily at the back of Xio Zi’s head the entire time.
On the other side of the room, Yuze was staring at Ying Ying. "She looks really cute," Yuze whispered to Jeo-on.
"Her face might be, but definitely not her behavior," Jeo-on muttered back coldly, still thinking about Xio Zi.
Yuze looked at him, confused. "Wait, who are you talking about? Did you actually fall for someone this time?"
Jeo-on quickly looked away and lied, "I'm just talking about the birds sitting on the trees outside."
Yuze laughed and said, "Okay, dude."
When the bell rang, the class ended. Students started packing their bags, and a group of girls were talking about going to a brand-new Hotpot restaurant down the street that was offering a huge 50% discount.
Ying Ying turned to Xio Zi with bright eyes. "Do you want to go to that new restaurant? Let's go celebrate our first day at the university!" Xio Zi smiled and agreed.
As Xio Zi walked out of the classroom door, Jeo-on suddenly stepped out and blocked her path. He looked down at her and asked, "Do you recognize me?"
Xio Zi looked at his face with pure annoyance. "I didn't recognize you then, and I don't want to recognize you now. Give me some space," she said coldly, walking right past him.
Jeo-on stood there, his ego completely hurt. How can she not recognize me? Who could ever forget a face as handsome as mine?! He quickly chased after her down the hallway. He brought up the night of the accident and how she had yelled at him, loudly demanding that she apologize to him right now.
Xio Zi stopped and turned around. "Oh, so it's you," she scoffed. "Let me remind you: it was your mistake. You suddenly stopped at a green light, so you are the one who owes me an apology. Now, get out of my sight." With that, she turned around and walked away. Jeo-on was left standing there, boiling with anger. No one had ever spoken to him like that in his entire life.
The Secret in the Restaurant
Inside the new hotpot restaurant, Xio Zi and Ying Ying sat down at a cozy table. As they were looking at the menu, a friendly voice called out, "Long time no see, Xio!"
Xio Zi looked up and recognized the waiter instantly. It was her old friend, Chu Junyao! She smiled happily and greeted him warmly. "Wow! How have you been? Why didn't you tell me you were living in Shanghai?"
Chu Junyao smiled and replied, "Actually, I've been living here for quite a while because I'm studying at the university."
"Really? Which university?" Xio Zi asked, surprised.
"Hoyuang University," Chu Junyao replied.
Xio Zi gasped in shock. "No way! I just started studying there today too!"
Chu Junyao laughed and joked, "Well, that means I am your official Senior, dear Xio Zi."
She chuckled, "Haha, then you better help me study for my exams!"
Junyao explained that the restaurant belonged to his uncle, so he was just helping out for the grand opening. Xio Zi then introduced Ying Ying to him, and they all chatted happily. They ordered a big meal of spicy mapo tofu, meat, hotpot, and drinks.
They were eating peacefully when a group of loud, angry men at the next table started yelling at Chu Junyao. Junyao had accidentally spilled a few drops of water on one of them. Even though Junyao bowed and apologized over and over again, the men refused to listen. They were just looking for a fight so they could leave without paying their expensive bill.
Xio Zi saw right through their bad intentions. The mafia side of her kicked in. She stood up and walked over to their table. "Stop making a scene," she said in a tough, calm voice. "Pay your bill right now, or I will call the police."
One of the tough guys sneered at her and raised his hand to attack her. Junyao quickly stepped in and grabbed the man's wrist, shouting, "Don't you dare touch her!" But during the struggle, the man twisted Junyao's hand, injuring it.
Seeing her friend get hurt, Xio Zi's eyes went cold. She gently pushed Junyao behind her. "I'll handle this," she said, noticing the injury on his hand.
The man lunged forward to hit her, but Xio Zi was way too fast. She dodged his punch, delivered a powerful, swift kick straight to his body, and knocked him flat onto the floor. She pinned him down effortlessly, showing him exactly who was boss.
Terrified by her strength, the man started crying out, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! We will pay!" He quickly threw the money on the table, threw his hands up, and ran out of the restaurant with his friends trailing behind him.
The restaurant went quiet. Chu Junyao looked at Xio Zi and smiled, holding his hurt hand. "Wow... you really haven't changed at all. You are still so brave and strong."
Xio Zi sighed and pulled a bandage out of her pocket. "And you haven't changed either. You are still completely careless about getting hurt." She carefully wrapped the bandage around his hand, said goodbye, and walked out of the restaurant with Ying Ying.
As they walked down the street, Ying Ying looked at Xio Zi with wide, shocked eyes. She couldn't hold her curiosity in anymore. "Xio Zi... who was that guy? And how can you fight like that? What is going on?"
Xio Zi stopped walking and looked at her best friend. Her face became very serious.
"Actually... there is a huge secret I've been hiding from you for a very long time," Xio Zi said softly. "I never found the right time to tell you before. But today, I am going to tell you everything."
